Loughborough College Public Services students certainly passed inspection when they took to the parade ground for their 2015 Awards Evening.
More than 100 students and their families were joined at the Tigers Road Army Reserve Centre in Leicester by Captain Nicholas Barron from Royal Yeomanry E Squadron, Police Commander Inspector Tracey Willetts and Principal and Chief Executive of Loughborough College Esme Winch.
After months of twice-weekly rehearsals, students took to the parade ground to march with music for the gathered VIPs and guests, followed by an inspection and the presentation of a range of awards.
Loughborough College Public Services Lecturer Perry Smith said: “The honour guard marched on first and took their posts before the guests and VIPs arrived.
“The whole evening was really well received and a great way for our students to bring everything together and show how hard they have worked, as well as a chance for them to meet people themselves working in the services. They really enjoyed it.
“It was also the first year the event has taken place outside the College. The opportunity to use the barracks was a way for my army reserve unit to say, thank you and to give something back to Loughborough College for supporting me as a reservist.”
