Sky high success for Jack and the Beanstalk at Loughborough College

Panto season at Loughborough College has been a sky high success with Jack and the Beanstalk proving a giant hit with audiences.

Performing Arts students delivered the traditional tale with a twist, delighting all ages with sing a longs and oh no he didn’ts to dial up the decibels.

“Our students created such a fantastic atmosphere that whether they were elderly, nursery age or anywhere in between the audience became a mighty force, with a noise that threatened to drown out the actors. It was brilliant,” said creative arts tutor Emma Ledsam.

“We had a truly stellar 18-strong, all female cast, with a girl playing a boy playing a girl, an outstanding traditional pantomime cow and some wonderful adlibbing, not to mention students backstage on lighting as well as front of house.

“And songs from artists including Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton, Ed Sheeran and S Club 7 proved irresistible crowd pleasers.

“Our students really brought it to every single one of our six performances, sending everyone home smiling – and hoarse. The Loughborough College creative arts team is extremely proud of them.”

Jack and the Beanstalk featured Lucy Cavil as Queen Bacteria; Georgia McAtee as Daisy; Katelyn Efford and Ashleigh Brown as Giant; Ana Da Silva as Jack; Mia Slater and Megan Hough as Jill; Emily Goddard as Odd; Tianey Welborun as Job; Ashleigh Brown and Isabel Peters as Mimi; Emily Harrison as Tania; Bright Hughes-Rai as Dame Trott; Katy Evans as Raspberry; Katelyn Efford and Isabel Peters as Swirl
