Loughborough College has welcomed the opportunity to continue building on its strong education links with China following the visit to Charnwood of a high-level delegation from Jianyang.
In recent months, Loughborough College CEO John Doherty has visited Jianyang and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Middle School for the College to provide courses and to support enhanced teaching. Earlier this year, A-level students from the College also spent time at the school in China.
“We were delighted to welcome senior government and education representatives from the region to Loughborough College and to discuss our developing partnership in Jianyang and the opportunities it offers students and staff in both countries,” said John Doherty.
The visit introduced the two regions to each other, with Jianyang keen to forge closer ties with Charnwood. “The delegation was impressed with what they saw of the region, Loughborough College, the University and local businesses and facilities.
“Building strong education links is key to our international strategy at Loughborough College and with three partner schools in the district already, including Jianyang Middle School, we are in an excellent position to promote and expand there.”
