A Loughborough College partner has offered young engineers a valuable industry insight – and presented a top prize to the student of the year.
Independent wholesaler Lenton Electrical shared insider tips with the final year group before naming Jonathan Timoney as the winner of the Level 3 Diploma accolade.
The electrical installation students were given a range of helpful advice by Callum Dunn from the company, which has been a Loughborough College supplier for more than a decade.
“The role of wholesalers like Lenton is integral, and vital, to the working life laying ahead of our students,” said Loughborough College supervisory technician Keith Large.
“Whether you’re in a small company or have set up on your own, having a good relationship with a reliable supplier who offers choice and quality and can get something to you quickly can mean the difference between getting a job finished effectively and on time and having your client recommend you and call you again in the future - or a far less positive outcome.
“Jonathan was thrilled to receive a full tool kit from Lenton, who sponsor the award, and the other students benefited from receiving a selection of tools as well as a host of information, as they prepare to set out on their careers as professional electricians.”
