Loughborough College students have been remembering their former classmate Leah Reek on the Twilight Walk for LOROS.
Chloe Ricketts, Vicky Woodhouse and Yasmin Vann-Harris, who all study Health and Social Care with the College, took part in the 10km walk in Leicester to raise money for the charity.
Leah was tragically confirmed as a victim in an explosion in Leicester on 25 February and Loughborough College staff and students recently released balloons and read out a poem in tribute to the teenager.
Chloe, Vicky and Yasmin said: “We completed the LOROS 10km Twilight Walk in memory of the most down to earth, kind and caring person that we have ever met- Leah Beth Reek. We had the privilege of being friends with Leah, she was one in a million.
“The reason we decided to participate in the walk was because Loros was close to Leah's heart as she volunteered there and loved every minute of it.
“Leah never failed to make people smile and always cheered them up and made them feel better, she also had the most bubbly, caring and thoughtful personality and positive attitude and outlook on life. She also brought positivity to every situation that she found herself in.
“Therefore we wanted to complete this walk in memory of Leah to support what she was devoted to. She will always be remembered and will always be in our hearts.”
