A local restaurant is thrilled to see a brand new social media project from Loughborough College computing students is already reaping rewards for their business.
Matt Guy and Claire Blagden from Wild Thyme in Kegworth had presented students with a detailed brief before hearing pitches for online promotional campaigns from seven College groups and finally selecting a winner to work with them.
The husband and wife team were so keen on one idea from the winners that they implemented it even before the campaign was officially underway - and have been overwhelmed by the results.
“The Loughborough College students really embraced the challenge, delivering some fantastic ideas. One idea from the team we selected for a ‘Throwback Thursday’ campaign has already significantly increased our footfall on that night,” said Matt.
“The presentations were outstanding in their range and innovation, going way beyond the remit,” said Loughborough College I.T. lecturer Rob Nicol. “The students worked incredibly hard and the winners have developed a wonderful campaign. I think Matt and Claire have been genuinely blown away.”
Matt added: “We would like to personally thank Rob Nicol, Rachael Folds and Loughborough College for their input and for helping us to promote our new business venture. We are on a fantastic journey and feel proud to be part of the learning of these budding computer scientists.”
The Loughborough College students selected by Wild Thyme to develop a social media campaign for the restaurant are: Cameron Nicholls, Harishyam Patel, Joshua Weaver, Tyler Gee, Robert Baum, Callum Edwards, Yosif Hristov and Oliver Aley
