Town panto set to go sky high in new Loughborough College theatre

Family fun is set to go sky high at this year’s Christmas pantomime in the new theatre at Loughborough College.

Packed with hit sing-alongs, hisses, boos - and moos from the hero’s cuddly cow – Jack and the Beanstalk promises five days and nights of festive magic for all ages.

“This classic panto will be the first ever in our new theatre and will be shared by audiences including children from local schools and the elderly from residential homes, families in the area, our neighbouring RNIB College and our own staff and students,” said Emma Ledsam, Programme Area Lead for Music, Performing and Visual Arts at Loughborough College.

“There will be the chance to join in with favourites like Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, Reach for the Stars and Nine to Five, lots of yelling at villainess Queen Bacteria and plenty of laughs as we root for our hero Jack in this well-loved story.

“With two shows a day to prepare for, just like in the theatre industry, our performance arts students have been rehearsing for months while creative arts have been developing projected backdrops, hair and media make up have been perfecting the characters’ looks, our music degree students have been fine-tuning the soundtrack and the finishing touches are being added to costumes and props.

“We are very excited and can’t wait to open our doors to welcome everyone to this really special seasonal show.”

Tickets for 'Jack and the Beanstalk' are available for Monday 8 December at 7.00pm; Tuesday 9 December at 1.00pm & 7.00pm; Wednesday 10 December at 1.00pm & 7.00pm; Thursday 11 December at 1.00 pm and 7.00pm and Friday 12 December at 1.00pm.
