A new partnership between Loughborough College and a leading provider of top level talent to the sports industry is being launched today.
Sports Recruitment International are putting more than sixty Sport BSc students through their paces with a two day simulated graduate assessment designed to boost their employability.
With clients including Nike, Manchester City Football Club, the RFU and Red Bull Motor Racing and offices in London, Sydney, Singapore and Lausanne, the agency knows exactly the skills Loughborough College students will need to impress employers in a highly demanding global industry.
“Students create a one minute video application and a presentation, they learn how to shine in a group interview situation and one-on-one. These are daunting environments they will have to face in the real world where you have one chance and limited time to stand out,” said Sports Recruitment International’s Jo Gardener.
“This offers our BSc sports students a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable experience from an agency operating at the highest level in the sports industry,” said Sarah Larnder, Lecturer and Development Officer for HE Sport at Loughborough College.
“Recent surveys with leading UK employers have indicated that thousands of graduates are arriving at interviews without ‘vital employability skills’ but throughout the final year of study on our BSc Sport programmes we provide students with a range of opportunities to enhance these skills,” added Elaine Locke, HE Sport Team Leader.
“After career planning, internships and work experience, this simulated graduate assessment day gives students one-on-one feedback on their employment potential and prepares them for an increasingly competitive job market.”
