A one-off performance of a specially written song today previewed a brand new visual and performance Arts Centre in the heart of Loughborough.
Loughborough College music students Daniel Wilson, Beth Jardine and Michael Dover-Jaques performed an acoustic set in the still-under-construction theatre, part of the multi-million pound development due to open on the campus for students and for the public in September 2014.
In addition to a 250-seat theatre, the complex will house music and recording studios, a dance studio, art and textile facilities and a photography studio and darkroom.
Loughborough College Programme Lead for Music, Performing and Visual Arts Emma Ledsam said: “Loughborough College Sixth Form is looking forward to an amazing start to September.
“All our Performance, Music and Visual Arts students will move into our brand new purpose-built, state-of- the-art building.
“Students taking our creative courses will have access to recording studios, specialist rehearsal rooms, photography studios and a 250-seat theatre space so they can work and develop projects together to really build their employability skills.”
